hello

 hello crafty stampers!

I have a lovely card today made specially for the freshly made sketches challenge #496.

I do like using up the little bits of card that inevitably end up in a stash of its own! This sketch challenge allowed me to do just that!

I started with white card then cut the mint macaron to suit the 2 shapes. For the 3rd shape I used my cloud stencil and blended distress oxide ink to create a clouds-through-a-window effect. After gluing the shapes down, I stamped the kitty and the cushion and bowl then fussy cut them. I did colour a little around kitty as he was a bit one dimensional. I die cut the hello from shaded spruce and twice more from white and glued them together to build up the dimension. I stamped the sentiment with distress oxide ink in my Misti and also used three layers to build up the dimension.  The kitty, cushion and bowl were mounted on foam squares to give them the shadow look. The whole panel was then mounted on foam tape onto the card base.

Thanks for stopping by!

piƱata

 hello stampers!

Today I'm sharing the card I made for the sisterhood of snarky stampers SOSS #190 challenge. C is for Colourful.  Edna is really rocking that kaleidoscope!

I tried to incorporate lots of colours in my card but I realised I have been making cards using 2 or 3 colours only. I guess I think it appears more cohesive(?) But I can do colourful!

I started with a background of distress oxide inks, watered and smooshed onto the card.  Although it was colourful, it did serve as a just a gentle background for the stamping. The fairies I stamped using Altenew inks and my Misti to get nice rich colours. I finished it off with lots of wink of Stella on the pink fairiness and fairy wings!

Thanks for stopping by!

chickens

 hello crafty stampers!

I saw the latest sketch challenge from the lovely people at freshly made sketches FMS495 and knew straight away what I could do with it. It's not often that happens, so I had to lie down jump at the idea before I started to second guess myself.  I know...I really shouldn't...

Recently I was having a giggle at carmen's veranda - some great quotes there and thanks go to them for the sentiment on my card today.

I started by blending distress oxide inks over the background - I wanted to make it look like a chicken's paradise! lol I stamped various small stamps over the background for interest and texture, then glued down a strip of grey card for the road. The chickens I printed, coloured and fussy cut then adhered them with foam for dimension. They are, after all, the heroes of my piece! The background panel had the edges inked with garden green to match the card base.

Such fun! Thanks for stopping by!

gingerbread

 hello crafty stampers!

I don't know what came over me today but I made a Christmas card.  And it's only July! I may have to lie down for a bit until the sense of efficiency wears off and the usual procrastination returns. My friend told me a joke the other day:

"Hey I've got the cure for procrastination!"

"Great, just put it on the counter and I'll get it later."  lol

The lovely sisters at the sisterhood of snarky stampers have a new challenge #189 X is for Xposed

My goodness, Edna, saucy!

I do wish I had a bigger stamp collection, but alas no sauce.  So Christmas themed it is...

I used an old stampin up stamp for the background, and another old stampin up stamp for the sentiment. The gingerbread were fussy cut from paper. They (surprisingly) have a lot of character...and some winky snark. She has def been exposed! I wonder if all gingerbread are this cheeky, or just the girls?

Thanks for stopping by!
